Buma ROCKS! at Radio Veronica, last panelists confirmed for the conference, Buma ROCKS! at the Global Rock Summit in LA

The fourth edition of Buma ROCKS!, the international conference and showcase festival for loud music, will take place on Saturday 4 June 2016. To mark this, Dutch Radio Veronica launches a special online radio station. With the names of the last two panelists the Buma ROCKS! conference programme is complete. On 15 and 16 April Buma ROCKS! attended the Global Rock Summit in Los Angeles, together with three Dutch bands.

Buma ROCKS! online at Radio Veronica, Heavy Alternative revisited
As of today, April 25 2016, Buma ROCKS! Radio can be listened to through the website of Radio Veronica. The 24/7 channel offers a varied selection of Dutch metal and hardrock, mixed with new international tracks and classics from the genre’s biggest names. Erik de Zwart, Station Director and dj at Radio Veronica comments: “Buma Cultuur and Buma ROCKS! promote new musical talent from the Netherlands, just like Radio Veronica does. In our programming you will hear all of the well-known acts, but we feature burgeoning talent in a programme like Breakthru as well. I think it’s great that we have agreed to this collaboration.” On May 26th a special broadcast of Heavy Alternative is planned, presented by Frank Helmink and some very special guests. Nowadays Helmink is the director of Buma Cultuur, but Heavy Alternative used to be his domain at Kink FM during the mid noughties. In this broadcast Hibakusha, this year’s Buma ROCKS! showcaseband, will perform live.

Buma ROCKS! and Dutch bands at the Global Rock Summit
On April 15 and 16 a Dutch delegation attended the third Global Rock Summit in Los Angeles. In the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel representatives of companies from rock communities around the globe spoke about label and publishing signings, booking, management, festivals, synchs and other key activities. Buma ROCKS! presented the Keynote interview with Marco Collins, the legendary rock DJ from Seattle. Collins will attend this year’s Buma ROCKS! on June 4th. Project manager Janis van Lokven spoke on behalf of Buma ROCKS! about the conference and showcases. The A&R Panel commented on tracks of a.o. John Coffey (“Best vocals of the day!”) and Mandrake’s Monster (who got producer Howard Benson all enthusiastic). Mandrake’s Monster, The Charm The Fury and John Coffey performed at the Global Rock Summit in SIR Studios.

Panelists Ben Hylands and Bindu De Knock to complete conference programme
With the confirmation of English booking agent and manager Ben Hylands and Belgian IP lawyer Bindu De Knock the programme of the Buma ROCKS! conference is completed. The programme contains: Keynote speech by Alex Agnew, panel Development of a live act with Keith Naisbitt, Julia Frank, Ben Hylands and Tjerk Maas, masterclass Taking care of Rock Business by Ruud Hoevenaars (Dutch spoken), panel Playing the media with Marco Collins, Daniel P. Carter, Holger Stratmann and Saïd Al-Haddad, masterclass See you in court by Bindu De Knock (Dutch spoken), panel Beyond Wacken with Thomas Jensen and Thomas Kreidner and music panel Heavy Track, in which Nathan Barley Philips, Gunnar Sauermann, Alex Agnew and Daniel P. Carter will comment on tracks of the bands who applied for this year’s Buma ROCKS! showcases. More about the panelists on the website.

Buma ROCKS! Export Award @ FortaRock
This year’s Buma ROCKS! Export Award will be handed out between the conference and the Trade BBQ held at the FortaRock grounds. Those who hold tickets to Buma ROCKS! have access to both the award ceremony and the BBQ.

Saturday 4 June 2016, Doornroosje (conference) and FortaRock (Buma ROCKS! stage)
The event is open to the general audience and aims to connect ambitious and upcoming acts in hard rock, metal and related genres to professionals from the rock business both from the Netherlands and internationally. Doornroosje in Nijmegen will again be the venue of choice for the conference. Four bands will play on the Buma ROCKS! stage at FortaRock in the Nijmegen Goffertpark on Saturday night.
