Buma ROCKS! Early bird tickets on sale from January 16!

Although the Heavy Panel during the Eurosonic Noorderslag Conference in Groningen has not taken place yet (January 17), Buma ROCKS! has lots of news to offer! The international conference and showcase festival for loud music on June 5 at the brand new Doornroosje venue in Nijmegen will be open to the general public for the first time since its inception in 2013; no more invitations-only, as was the case in previous years. Early Bird tickets for the third edition of Buma ROCKS! will be on sale through www.bumarocks.nl from Friday next, January 16, 10am, for only € 39.

Keynote by Neil Warnock, Panels, Heavy Demo and Heavy Chats
Buma ROCKS! is proud to present Neil Warnock as its keynote speaker, kicking off the conference programme. Warnock is Worldwide President and founder of The Agency Group, one of the world’s foremost entertainment booking agencies. Various panels will bring you up to date with all of the ins and outs of the heavy music business. Confirmed are Andy Farrow (owner Northern Music) and Sat Bisla (President and founder of A&R Worldwide and LA’s Global Rock Summit).

A new addition to the Buma ROCKS! conference programme is Heavy Demo. Rock, metal and pop producer Oscar Holleman (Gorefest, Within Temptation and many, many more) and Melkweg music programmer and metal fan John van Luyn, among others, will judge ten selected acts who sent in their demo track. Everyone buying a ticket for Buma ROCKS! has the opportunity to mention that he or she would like to apply for Heavy Demo judgment. Will your track be played and dissected on stage?

René Rutten (The Gathering-guitarist/producer/mastering engineer), Joost van den Broek (keyboardist After Forever, ReVamp and Sun Caged) and Wilko Reijnders (label manager Benelux, Century Media Records) are the first Dutch industry pros to partake in Heavy Chats (closed meetings with aspiring acts). With a Networking Drink offered by Buma ROCKS! the afternoon will come to an end – and FortaRock in the City will open its doors!

Buma ROCKS! showcases integrated in FortaRock in the City
Traditionally, Buma ROCKS! takes place on the Friday before metal festival FortaRock. This year FortaRock and Buma ROCKS! participate in FortaRock in the City, bringing together some well-known and some talented new names from rock and metal for one hell of a party. The Buma ROCKS! showcases will be integrated in FortaRock in the City. Eleven heavy bands – or more – on three stages throughout Doornroosje, both from the Netherlands and abroad. The first one announced is baroquecore act Igorrr from France, a truly unique soloproject from Gautier Serre.

The FortaRock and Buma ROCKS! programmers will select at least one Danish band for FortaRock in the City. This will happen on January 24 at showcasefestival When Copenhell Freezes Over in Copenhagen. Dutch bands who would like to try and secure a slot for a Buma ROCKS! showcase gig during FortaRock in the City, should apply via www.bumarocks.nl as of Friday next, January 16.
