Buma ROCKS! goes Roadburn: Heavy Panel and networking meeting on 21 April in 013, Tilburg

Buma ROCKS!, the international conference and showcase festival for loud music, will participate in the Roadburn Festival for the first time in 2017. Held annually in and around 013, Tilburg, Roadburn is a festival without equal. Ever since 1999 it offers a high quality selection of doom, stoner, avant-garde and psychedelic acts in rock, metal and beyond, and thus manages to a enthrall a fanatical international audience.

Roadburn 2017 takes place from Thursday 20 until Sunday 23 April. Together with Buma ROCKS! the festival will host a network meeting on Friday 21 April to which the international music industry and press travelling to Roadburn will be invited. Later in the afternoon everyone with a weekend ticket or a Friday ticket is welcome to attend the Heavy Panel entitled Overcoming Barriers. How can an ambitious band from the Netherlands (or any other country, for that matter) reach the broadest audience possible, overcoming geographical and business barriers? The panel will look at how bands playing Roadburn can use such experiences as a springboard to take their talent international.

Panel members will be:
Pip Soret, European label manager, Relapse Records – Pip has a masters of science degree in cultural geography from Radboud University in Nijmegen to back up his work dealing with the day to day business of helping to run one of the heaviest labels around.
Luc Favié, booking agent voor Rock The Nation and Doomstar Bookings – Luc is instrumental in helping bands reach the right audience at the right time, working with names as varied as Korpiklaani, Entombed AD, Tribulation, Shining and Dutch acts Carach Angren, DOOL and F.U.B.A.R.
Laster are the 2017 ‘Roadburn Introduces…’ band, and they are hotly tipped to soon be making waves internationally. They recently released album Ons Vrije Fatum to critical acclaim.
Kim Kelly, Editor at Noisey US – Kim has a talent for not only scouting out the best up and coming talent on an international level, she is prepared to leave no filthy, moss covered stone unturned in her quest to do so.
Thomas Sciarone, musician – Thomas is one sixth of Dutch post-everything band GOLD, a band who have always chosen to tread their own international path, creatively and stylistically as well as politically.

The panel’s moderator is Mark van Schaick, Buma ROCKS! programme coordinator and journalist.

More on Buma ROCKS! at Roadburn will be announced through the websites and social media channels of the parties involved.
