Buma ROCKS! is attending April’s Global Rock Summit in Los Angeles with three Dutch bands performing, Dream Theater agent Keith Naisbitt and more panelists confirmed for conference

The fourth edition of Buma ROCKS!, the international conference and showcase festival for loud music, will take place on Saturday 4 June 2016. We are pleased to announce new names for the conference, but before Nijmegen happens Buma ROCKS! sets sail for Los Angeles to attend the Global Rock Summit and to present three great bands there: John Coffey, The Charm The Fury en Mandrake’s Monster.

Buma ROCKS! goes USA!
On April 15 and 16, the third Global Rock Summit will take place at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles. Representatives of companies from rock communities around the globe will speak about label and publishing signings, booking, management, festivals, synchs and other key activities. Attending the Global Rock Summit on behalf of Buma ROCKS! are Frank Helmink (director Buma Cultuur and founder of Buma ROCKS!) and Janis van Lokven (Project Manager). On April 16th in the Blossom Ballroom of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel Buma ROCKS! will present the Keynote interview with Marco Collins, the legendary rock DJ who worked for station KNDD “The End” in Seattle during the 90’s. Collins will be present at this year’s Buma ROCKS! on June 4th. Frank Helmink will talk about Buma ROCKS! and the Dutch rock scene in The Live Entertainment Forum: Rockin’ 360 Worldwide. New panelists announced: Keith Naisbitt, Julia Frank, Tjerk Maas and Gunnar Sauermann
Buma ROCKS! announces new names for the conference in Doornroosje, Nijmegen, on June 4th. Keith Naisbitt is considered one of the most knowledgeable agents for international engagements. Working from the Los Angeles offices of Agency for the Performing Arts (APA), he is currently closely involved with Dream Theater, bringing the multi-platinum selling progressive metalband to theatre and arena stages around the world. Julia Frank is the Senior Executive Manager Touring of Wizard Promotions, one of Germany’s leading concert agencies. Besides promoting live performances of mainstream pop acts, the company has worked for Iron Maiden, Kiss, Bon Jovi, Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica and Slayer. With a keen eye for new talent, Wizard Promotions is also staging 2016 tours for bands like Beartooth, Monolord, Despite Everything and Blood Ceremony. Tjerk Maas has a colourful background in the heavy scene of the Netherlands. As the singer for Outburst he performed all over the country and even made it to the Milwaukee Metalfest. He is the owner and principal booking agent at agency Loud Noise, which he founded in 1998. Loud Noise is setting up festivals like Dynamo Metalfest (Eindhoven), Into The Grave (Leeuwarden), Into The Void (Leeuwarden) and Cityrock (Leeuwarden). As a booking agency, Loud Noise takes care of artists like Vandenberg’s Moonkings, Metal Church and up-and-coming acts Vektor and Noctum. For more than fifteen years Gunnar Sauermann has been contributing to the German edition of Metal Hammer as well as other magazines. Buma ROCKS! 2016
Saturday 4 June 2016, Doornroosje (conference) and FortaRock (Buma ROCKS! stage)
The event is open to the general audience and aims to connect ambitious and upcoming acts in hard rock, metal and related genres to professionals from the rock business both from the Netherlands and internationally. Doornroosje in Nijmegen will again be the venue of choice for the conference. Four bands will play on the Buma ROCKS! stage at FortaRock in the Nijmegen Goffertpark on Saturday night.
