Buma ROCKS! presents The Charm The Fury during FortaRock In The City, 27 May in Doornroosje, Nijmegen

In 2017 Buma ROCKS!, the international conference and showcase festival for loud music, is affiliated to FortaRock In The City, the metal festival in venue Doornroosje, Nijmegen, on Saturday 27 May. Besides offering match making sessions between bands and heavy music professionals, Buma ROCKS! will be presenting a number of showcases during the festival. The first Dutch band confirmed is The Charm The Fury. Earlier this year FortaRock In The City has announced Decapitated, Periphery, The Contortionist and Destrage, with more names to follow. For one much coveted slot on the bill Dutch hard rock, punk and metal bands can still apply until the end of February. Buma ROCKS! presents The Charm The Fury
Amsterdam-based The Charm The Fury has been confirmed as the first Dutch act to perform at FortaRock In The City. The modern metal band played at the very first Buma ROCKS! event in 2013 and took part in the Buma ROCKS! presented LOUD & PROUD showcase event during Eurosonic Noorderslag in January of 2016. Subsequently Buma ROCKS! offered the band a showcase spot at the Global Rock Summit in Los Angeles. They didn’t go unnoticed: the five-piece featuring vocalist Caroline Westendorp were picked up in LA by label Nuclear Blast, operating from both Germany and the USA. At the end of March 2017 the second The Charm The Fury album entitled The Sick, Dumb & Happy will be released through Nuclear Blast/Arising Empire. Further activities of Buma ROCKS! @ FortaRock In The City
As was the case a couple of weeks ago during Eurosonic Noorderslag, Buma ROCKS! will offer ideal possibilities for networking during FortaRock In The City. An interesting prospect for those with contacts in the heavy music scene! Parallel to the live programme, several activities will take place in the Doornroosje cafe: interviews with some of the artists performing and match making talks between bands and industry professionals. The impressive Wheel Of Steel will be turning as well – more on this later!

Apply for a showcase slot @ FortaRock In The City until 28 February
Buma ROCKS! is offering a showcase gig to an ambitious heavy act during FortaRock In The City. Bands can apply through the Buma ROCKS! website until the end of February. In 2016 Haarlem metal band Hibakusha were selected from over a hundred applications. They performed at FortaRock in Nijmegen and during LOUD & PROUD @ ESNS 2017 in Groningen.
