First Dutch act ESNS 2025 announced: Personal Trainer

Today ESNS (Eurosonic Noorderslag), the platform for emerging European music talent, announced the first acts for the 39th edition of the annual showcase festival and music conference. Traditionally, the first acts are largely selected by European national radio stations, in collaboration with ESNS.

First Dutch act for ESNS 2025

On behalf of the Netherlands, NPO 3FM has selected the Amsterdam indie rockers Personal Trainer (nl, NPO 3FM) for ESNS 2025. NPO 3FM is one of the European national radio stations that has united in the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), and can therefore select an act for the ESNS 2025 line-up.

European Broadcasting Union (EBU)

Many European national radio stations are united in the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). Because of the collaboration between EBU and ESNS, European artists have the opportunity to showcase themselves in Groningen to both music lovers and music professionals. This shows that ESNS represents new talent from across the continent. And we all celebrate how rich and diverse European pop culture is.

Full participation for everyone

Not only music lovers, but also music makers can fully immerse themselves in the wonderful world of pop culture. The selected acts will also have the opportunity to get the most out of ESNS. They automatically participate in the European Talent Exchange program.

But music professionals can also indulge themselves in the far north of the Netherlands. Many names have already been added to the ESNS 2025 conference programme. Think of names such as: Sumit Bothra (SB3 Artist Management), Seth Dodson (Pitchfork), Jess Iszatt (BBC), Katie Melua (artist) and Victoria Oakley (IFPI). But trendsetters from Dekmantel, EMMA, Wasserman Music and many others have also been added to the conference program.

Focus on Italy

Like every year, ESNS puts a European country in the spotlight. This year it is Italy’s turn. In collaboration with Italia Music Export, Puglia Sounds and ER Music Commission, ESNS ensures that the best emerging Italian acts can showcase their diversity of musical talent.

About Eurosonic Noorderslag

ESNS was founded in Groningen in 1986. This means that ESNS 2025 is already the 39th edition. From January 15 to 18, 2025, there will be plenty to do for both music fanatics and professionals in and from the music world. During the day, 4,000 international music professionals are in the Oosterpoort for the ESNS Conference. There you will meet important people from the scene and create opportunities for yourself as a European artist.
