Nominees for the 2026 Music in Media Awards announced

This year, Buma Music in Motion once again honors the best compositions of Dutch origin with the Music in Media Awards (MIMAs). Compositions from various media receive the attention they deserve in this way. During a festive gala evening in Lief Amsterdam, the compositions and their creators are put in the spotlight. These are the nominees for MIMAs 2026.

Each year, composers, sync agents, and media professionals have submitted their best work from the previous year to be nominated in one of the twelve categories. The international and impressive jury of no less than 40 members selected the nominees and has the tough job of selecting a winner for each category.

The importance of Buma Music in Motion

Buma Music in Motion (BMIM), part of Buma Cultuur, connects music supervisors, (film) directors, and other music decision-makers with Dutch media composers and media publishers. The MIMAs showcase the broad capabilities of the Dutch music sector. It also shows how important music is for the impact and experience of audiovisual productions. In addition to its own annual conference and award show, BMIM promotes media music and its composers at events such as NFF, IDFA, ESNS, ADE, Embassy of Dutch Creativity, OORZAKEN, and more.
