New Music Conference 2025 once again brings together composers and makers

New Music Conference, an initiative of BumaStemra and organized by Buma Cultuur in collaboration with November Music, will once again bring together composers, musicians, programmers, students, and other professionals from the world of new music. The seventh edition of this annual event will take place on Thursday, November 13, 2025. It will be a day full of inspiration, encounters, and knowledge sharing.

November Music

November Music is the leading festival for adventurous music lovers. The New Music Conference is a permanent part of the festival programme. This year’s conference focuses on topics including fair practice, grand rights, collaboration in music theatre, the relationship between art and healthcare, and the changing position of the composer in a rapidly evolving field.

Creators will also get to work during Maker Session XL, young composers will present themselves during New Composers Pitch, and the popular Matchmaking Sessions will foster new collaborations. Some highlighted programme components include:

• Keynote interview with composer Meriç Artaç, who wrote the ninth Bosch Requiem this year
• Launch of the new working group Grootrecht, a collaboration between fairPACCT and Nieuw Geneco
• The Buma Classical Award and Buma Classical Lifetime Achievement Award ceremonies
