inJazz 2023 lineup free live events announced
Four performances in Amsterdam, a festival, and a concert night in Rotterdam, that’s inJazz. The lineup for the live events has been announced today. The best thing about inJazz? All events are free! Only the conference requires a ticket. Ticket sales have now started. Check out the lineup and program here.
inJazz: from June 21st to June 23rd in Amsterdam and Rotterdam
inJazz takes place from June 21st to 23rd in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. On all three days, you can enjoy jazz, global, and crossover artists who live and work in the Netherlands for free. On June 21st, you can indulge in jazz at Bimhuis in Amsterdam. On June 22nd, the festival takes place at different locations in Rotterdam: LantarenVenster, MOOD and Fotovakschool. On the evening of June 23rd, there’s a concert night, also at LantarenVenster in Rotterdam. The program in Rotterdam seamlessly connects with the special concerts that the fringe festival North Sea Round Town is organizing this year.

Young talents and established names show that genre boundaries are increasingly blurring. The selection was made in early April by a committee consisting of Tim Sprangers (programmer Space Is The Place, Willem Twee Toonzaal), Loubna el Boujoufi (programmer TivoliVredenburg), Martyna van Nieuwland (artistic leader Music Meeting), and Koen Nederstigt (assistant North Sea Jazz Festival). Selected from nearly 200 applications are:
- Alto For Two
- AVA Trio
- Brintex Collective
- Matthias Van Den Brande Trio
- Meral Polat Trio
- NOHMI (photo)
- Raquel Kurpershoek
- Sanem Kalfa Miraculous Layers
- The Zebra Street Band
- Wake The Dead
- Yoràn Vroom Group Of Friends
In addition to these acts, there are also special performances during inJazz by Felix Schlarmann’s Tree House (jazzahead!/inJazz commissioned project), Martin Fondse ‘Faces of Water’ (Composer Laureate of the Netherlands), Loek van den Berg Quintet (winner of Best Composition during the Dutch Jazz Competition), Peter Willems Trio (winner of Maastricht Jazz Award 2023), and Organix (Sublime Award 2022 for Best Dutch Jazz).
The inJazz conference offers two days full of networking opportunities, panel discussions, and presentations for professionals working in jazz, global, and adjacent genres. Ticket sales have already started. Hurry up, there are only fifty early-bird tickets available! Get your ticket here.
On Thursday, June 22nd, there will be a conference afternoon at the artistic breeding ground Batavierhuis with presentations by the Europe Jazz Network (Creative Connections, with Francesco Martinelli and Marcus O’Dair, and Take The Green Train, about green touring), discussions about career planning for jazz musicians, and one-on-one conversations about financing, music rights, musician unions, and more.
On Friday, June 23rd, the inJazz conference afternoon takes place at LantarenVenster, with discussion topics such as jazz on (public) radio, Music, Migration & Heritage, and how to be successful as both a booker and an artist. During this afternoon, the prestigious Boy Edgarprijs award winner will also be announced, together with Performing Arts Fund NL.
