Buma Cultuur, Dutch.inJazz and jazzahead!
Jazzahead! is the place for high-quality, contemporary jazz. Where key players from the sector, including musicians, labels, agencies, festival organizers, and media representatives, can meet. Together with Performing Art Funds NL, Buma Cultuur provides the Dutch stand Dutch.inJazz. This year, over sixty Dutch jazz professionals did business! Each year, the focus is on a different country. With great pleasure, Buma Cultuur may announce that in 2024, the Netherlands will be in the spotlight.
“Having the Netherlands as the focus country at jazzahead! 2024 offers a unique opportunity to showcase the quality and diversity of the Dutch jazz scene. The showcases of Felix Schlarmann’s Tree House, Wolfert Brederode/Matangi Quartet/Joost Lijbaart, AVA Trio, and Sun-Mi Hong Quintet at jazzahead! this year already demonstrated how rich the Dutch jazz culture is. Jazzahead! 2024 gives us the opportunity to show even better what is happening in the Netherlands in the field of jazz.”
– Mark van Schaick, general manager jazz and global at Buma Cultuur
Presenting Dutch Jazz
Jazz music from the Netherlands can be characterized as genre-crossing. And in 2024, we can showcase that with a central stand. Trios, big bands, jazz with electronics, and punk jazz. Everything can have a place in the spotlight! During jazzahead! 2024, eight Dutch acts can present themselves to hundreds of jazz professionals worldwide with showcase performances. The registration for showcases starts in the fall. More news about registrations and dates will follow soon.
