Mariana Sanchotene new director Amsterdam Dance Event

On 17, August 2018

As of 1 October, Mariana Sanchotene will be the new Director of the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) foundation. She succeeds Richard Zijlma, who, together with Buma Cultuur director Frank Helmink, is still responsible for the upcoming edition of the Amsterdam Dance Event. Sanchotene’s appointment coincides with the foundation’s transition into an independent foundation.

Successful 12th edition of inJazz with over 300 networking sessions and 40 (inter)national bands

On 29, June 2018

inJazz served as the official prelude to North Sea Round Town and two weeks of jazz in Rotterdam on 28 and 29 June. During the conference, (inter)national jazz professionals enjoyed high profile panels and presentations. The winner of the Buma Boy Edgar Prize 2018 was announced at the end of the conference: pianist and composer Jasper van ‘t Hof.

Amsterdam Dance Event announces first confirmed artists

On 28, June 2018

The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), the world’s largest festival and business conference for electronic music, today announced the first selection of artists for 2017. Among them are Bonobo, Charlotte de Witte, Colin Benders, GAIA, Jeff Mills, Laurent Garnier, Martin Garrix, Nina Kraviz, Orbital, Peggy Gou and Richie Hawtin. The organisers expect to welcome a record breaking 400,000 visitors for the 23rd edition.

Film music gets its own place at IFFR

For its 48th edition in 2019, International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) has forged a partnership with Buma Cultuur, a foundation supporting music-related events in the Netherlands. Buma Cultuur will contribute to the festival’s music activities and IFFR PRO Days will feature a special music-themed day bringing together filmmakers and composers. Among the confirmed speakers is composer Cliff Martinez (Drive, Spring Breakers).
